Thursday 8 May 2008, 14-17:30, Zwijnaarde, Belgium

Outerthought will host an exclusive "fireside conversation" with Seth Gottlieb, renowned open source CMS analyst, on the subject of evaluating open source content management systems.

The concept of a fireside conversation is a leisurely-paced discussion between participants sharing common interests (but not necessarily like-minded views). We want you to share thoughts and opinions in an informal and inspiring setting.

This is a first-time event of its sort and a new concept for us, in which we hope to go beyond the sit-back-and-relax style of technology seminars.

Seth Gottlieb is the founder and principal of Content Here, an analyst firm and consultancy specializing in content technologies. With 15 years of experience in software and professional services, Seth has helped businesses large and small improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their content management and publishing processes. He has held leadership positions at several companies where he has deployed systems using a variety of content management technologies, and developed prototypes in many more. Seth is a regular contributor to CMS Watch and is the author of Open Source Web Content Management in Java and other articles and reports that have received critical acclaim. Considered a leading authority on the open source content management marketplace, Seth has presented at international conferences including the Gilbane Conferences on Content Technologies, Content Management Forum, Enterprise 2.0, and KM World and Intranets. Seth served on the 2005/2006 Board of Directors of Content Management Professionals, a membership organization for content management practitioners.

Goal of this afternoon event is to bring together some leading field practitioners, partners, customers and industry reporters for a clueful conversation on the subjects which keep Outerthought ticking: open source content and knowledge management, and building a business around that. Our goal is not to bore you with hours of marketing presentations, but to provide a forum for the exchange of interesting ideas.
