As a company, we are moving from projects and services to full-on product and technology - re-embracing the agility of a true startup in the process. As a baseline, we're not offering a job - we're setting up a TEAM that wants to deliver on the Lily vision by building great software and providing great support. If you have a love for enterprise software products and want to be part of this, building infrastructure software for internet-scale applications, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a variety of roles and people, such as:

• sales and marketing with international ambitions (we have customers in Europe and the USA)
• pre-sales technical consultants a.k.a. tech-smart pre-sales engineers
• a product manager
• devops and software packaging/distribution specialists
• software engineers and architects with a passion for Big Data, indexing and search (Solr and Elastic Search), analytics, recommendations, machine learning and the Hadoop ecosystem

Java has been our natural language so far, but who knows what comes next. At this stage, every hire makes a difference, so don't hesitate to surprise us. We're nimble, eager and flexible - we hope you are as well.

Outerthought is a geek-technical software-developing-loving company, an ideal working/playing place for people digging engineering craftsmanship and looking for a sparring tech dojo with fellow devs. We're in for the long run, with a strong product vision, working at the technology leading edge. We started working on Big Data and NOSQL technology about 2 years before anyone else, a calculated risk that is paying off now.

Due to our size and how we operate, flexibility towards our employees comes natural. Outerthought has its offices in Zwijnaarde (Gent) - we don't hire people out for detachment or long-term on-premise consulting jobs.

Expectations are high - for core tech roles we want experienced people with strong intellectual capabilities: we're not a mobile/web young graduate sweatshop. That means compensations are commensurate with skills and experience.
